"Get Your Abortions Now!"
I could not believe what the lady said! I was watching some of the Trump protestors after the election. One lady who appeared to be on the verge of tears passionately advised her fellow protestors: “Go get your abortions now!”
It is no surprise to those who are familiar with Hillary Clinton’s positions that she is supportive of late-term abortion. The lady who encouraged others to “get their abortions now” was apparently shocked and saddened that Trump won the election. Evidently she felt that Trump poses a threat to current abortion policies and wanted women to be sure they took advantage of the opportunity to get their abortions “now.”
What a tragedy that anyone would encourage others to have innocent babies murdered! Those who support abortion object, saying that a woman should have the right to choose what she does with her own body. But what about the rights of the innocent baby involved? Does the baby have no rights?
Many respond, “It is not actually a baby; it is only a fetus.” I suppose it sounds less barbaric to kill a “fetus” instead of a baby. For those who believe the Bible, however, that which is within the womb of a pregnant woman is a “baby.” Before Jesus was born, while He was still within Mary’s womb, Mary was carrying a “child” (Matthew 1:18). Notice that the Bible does not refer to the unborn child as a “fetus” or a blob of tissue.
In addition, when Elisabeth, the mother of John the Baptist was pregnant, Mary came to visit Elisabeth. According to scripture, when Elisabeth heard Mary’s voice the “babe leaped in her womb” (Luke 1:41). Consider this question: If Elisabeth had gone to an abortion clinic and had an abortion, what would the abortion doctor have killed? According to the Bible, the doctor would have killed a “babe”! John the Baptist would have never lived if Elisabeth had gotten an abortion.
Further, what if Mary, Jesus’ mother, had chosen to have an abortion? According to the Bible, the “child,” Jesus would not have been born.
Several months ago, my wife and I took into our home a precious, little, baby girl. She was only six weeks old at the time. How grateful we are that she was not aborted!
There are times when a couple produces a child they do not want. However, that couple only compounds their mistake by choosing to have an abortion. Innocent babies have rights too!
